Built by Sydney Yachts Custom Division at its world class ISO 9002 accredited Nowra facility, the 66-foot, $3.5 million luxury performance cruiser spent an intensive sixteen months in construction under the guidance of acclaimed designer Alan Warwick. His many luxury cruiser designs including the Warwick 60 'Intrigue' and Warwick 64 'Moonblue 2' have been admired internationally. Up until now the New Zealand manufacturers have led the luxury yachting market. This outstanding new vessel shows the world that Australia's Sydney Yachts have a great deal to offer in this arena and strong export orders are expected to flow from the Boat Show viewing. |

Sydney Yachts boasts an impressive racing history, which includes victories in the world's toughest races the Sydney to Hobart, Transpac and Fastnet races. The proven techniques and ocean tested construction quality is replicated in this latest luxury yacht.
This new production Warwick 66 design has a twin cockpit arrangement with dual wheel steering aft and a flush foredeck. Custom layout interiors and decks are also available. The design has a generous sail area to displacement ratio with the self-tacking furling jib, a full battened mainsail with a hydraulic furling carbon boom and furling jib. A gennaker with snuffer extends the ease of shorthanded cruising. The joystick controlled retracting bowthruster and electric windlass makes docking and anchoring effortless. |

Fitted with an efficient fin and bulb keel and a lightweight carbon mast, boom and spinnaker pole supplied by Carbontech Spars in Nowra, the yacht has already shown impressive speed in recent sea trials, both fully crewed and short handed.
With low contour deck lines and expansive below decks views, the split-level saloon and cabin area is luxuriously appointed and provides a beautiful and functional living and entertaining area.
The large saloon, dining and entertaining area has leather upholstered lounges, a 32" Plasma display and an integrated DVD, VCR, AM/FM tuner. Two stereos, a CD stacker and 4 Bose speakers complete the scene for the most discerning entertainment buff. |

The gallery area comes complete with full appointments including a stainless steel oven and range hood, dishwasher, microwave, and waste disposal unit. Custom fridges and freezers, a large capacity water maker and icemaker round out the entertainment potential of this yacht.
The lavishly appointed owners cabin features a 20" Plasma LCD TV, DVD and VCR player and home theatre amp with surround sound. The yacht has two additional cabins with bathroom and the main cabin has its own ensuite. Ducted air conditioning is provided throughout, with individual area controls.
The cabin sole is teak with black epoxy seams oiled and the timber fit out is a blend of angre, teak, and silky oak features.

The Navigation Station features a ships computer with 15" LCD screen which also displays the yachts on deck surveillance camera's which also provide video recording for filming day trips for guests and charterers to take the memories home. A 12" Radar plotter display, an auto pilot display, wind display and VHF, HF and a Mini M SATCOM are also fitted.
The luxury performance cruiser will makes its racing debut at Hog's Breath Race Week 2003 in August. Owner Don Algie anticipates that Storm II will be the most luxurious yacht under charter in the Whitsunday's. |

The hull and deck construction are wet laminate carbon fibre, core cell to SP specs, tankage 1500ltr (333 gallon) diesel fuel, 730ltr (162 gallon) water and 320ltr (71 gallon) waste system. The main engine is a Yanmar 170hp Diesel and the vessel has a Tristream 4 blade prop.

The mooring equipment uses a Maxwell RC2500 electric windlass with a Manson stainless steel anchor and a Fortress G125 anchor.
Twin cockpit arrangement with dual carbon fibre presentation wheels to Sydney Yachts signature design, stern indent and transom door with removable carbon fibre over centre davits and carbon spars and high sail area to displacement ratio. Flush foredeck, equipped with self-tacking furling jib, a full battened mainsail with a hydraulic furling boom and furling jib, and a gennaker with snuffer.

Ancillaries include a Televes Omni-Nova TV aerial with RG6 quad shield cabling, splitter and booster, two JVC Model KDS675 stereos, a JVC stacker CHPK611 and 4 x Bose 131 speakers.
The Helm stations utilise a Raymarine System duplicated on both helm stations with a joystick control for the bow thruster.
The Navigation Station features a Samsung 151MP 15" LCD with Nav 1000- Single board computer, Raymarine 12" Radar plotter display, an auto pilot display, wind display and VHF. ICOM remote head HF and a Mini M SATCOM. |

Leather upholstery featured the owner's choice of colour for the lounges, as did the quality fabric for the beds. Headliners in the main saloon, cabins, trunking and hull sides are completed with good quality vinyl.
The Cruisair air conditioning system incorporates five air handlers (2 forward, 2 in the saloon and one aft), 3 condensing units, ducted to the hull trunking.
The lights and switching system has approximately 90 mini recess down lights in addition to bulkhead mounted lights and a 10 m rope light with 16 power outlets and 20 light switches. |

Quality galley features include a gimballed, Oven Broadwater schooner full stainless steel 4 burner grill, a Fisher and Paykel half draw DS603SS dishwasher, a Panasonic stainless steel Genius microwave, a Smeg S2CDWA60DL range hood, a Blanco 1055 Waste disposal unit ISE55 (trash compactor) and custom stainless steel sinks. Hi Macs Acrylic solid surface bench tops and stainless steel finish to all lower cupboards and drawers further enhance the luxurious galley.
The refrigeration system is designed around custom 24 volt fridges and freezers plated with stainless steel insulated liners and water maker with 153 litres per hour capacity.
The vessel has Lewmar hatches and Gebo ports, Ocean Air screens and Port shade blinds.
Hydraulics are Fleet- Hydrol, 2 Function panel, backstay, boom vang, and dump valves. The deck gear is Harken and includes electric winches and foot switches located both at the winches as well as at the driver's feet for single-handed sailing.
The opening transom door is an electric hydraulic keyless remote with under stairs stowage.
Power is provided by a 17.5 kw Genset generator, gel service batteries, motor batteries, shore power and a Mastervolt inverter/charging system. |
